What documents do I need before leaving?

In addition to the travel documents issued upon booking, each passenger must have an identity document valid for entry into the countries on the itinerary: identity card or passport according to nationality, age and travel destination. For further details, consult the section Documents

Where can I find directions on how to get to the port of embarkation?

On the website, in the page dedicated to the individual destinations, you will find specific directions for each port.

What are the opening/closing times of the port offices?

The port offices are open at least 2 hours prior to departure and until the ship has departed.

Are the individual and group price lists the same for everyone?

In addition to the special offers which GNV launches from time to time, tariff differences may exist depending on the commercial agreements with the individual agencies.

Can I take pets on board?

Thanks to our exclusive "Pets Welcome on Board" service, all our passengers can travel with their dogs: a veterinary certificate with the compulsory vaccinations must be presented together with the travel documents. For non-Schengen routes, please check with your vet on any further documentation required. For further details, visit the section Animals on GNV ferries

What are the arrival times?

For every cruise the average journey time is indicated, but this can obviously vary depending on weather conditions.

Are the meals included in the price?

No meals or drinks are included in the price.

Who will I meet during the trip?

For obvious reasons of privacy we are not allowed to release information on the passengers embarked.

What happens if the sea is choppy or there is bad weather?

The GNV itineraries are designed to offer passengers the best and calmest sea conditions during the most favourable periods; all our units are equipped with stabiliser fins, which guarantee stability for the vehicles embarked.

Are commercial vehicles transporting hazardous goods allowed?

The transport of hazardous goods is permitted only on some routes after submittal of the relevant documentation which will be analysed by the competent department.

Is it possible to embark loose goods?

No, the GNV ferries only transport goods in vehicles.
